The Board of Education
meets regularly on the second Wednesday of each month. Meetings are
held at the Itasca Village Hall, 550 W. Irving Park Road, Itasca,
Illinois, at 7:00 P.M. If a closed session is needed, it is held prior
to the regular meeting at 6:00 P.M.
Special meetings may
be called by the President or at the request of three members of the
board by giving the board a 48 hour written or 24 hour personal notice
stating the time, place, an purpose of the meeting.
All meetings are open
to the public except for closed sessions which are permitted by law.
Among the reasons that the board may enter into a closed session are:
collective negotiations, acquisitions of real property, personnel
matters, student discipline, court proceedings, special education
student program, advisory committee reports, and filling a board
vacancy.
The format of each meeting allows for:
PUBLIC PARTICIPATION
REPORTS -
Information presentations to the board may be given by the
superintendent, members of the administrative staff, board members,
staff members, and community or other representatives. Although
pertinent to the operation of the school district, these reports do not
normally require any action by the board.
ACTION ITEMS -
These matters require a formal decision by the board. Only after board
members and the administrative staff have studied, discussed, and
recommended action can a point achieve that status.
Agendas of each meeting are available to the public at all regular meetings.
