Dear Itasca Families,

Itasca School District 10 is fortunate to be supported by two incredible organizations.  Both the Itasca Parent Teacher Organization (IPTO) and District 10 Education Foundation (D10 Foundation) lead fundraising to support the needs of our schools. Please note the following accomplishments by each group and consider joining if you are not already a member.

The IPTO raised approximately $69,000 last year. Funds supported the purchase of LCP projectors, author visits, stereo and speakers, library books, learning software, Apple IPads, ergonomic alternative student seating, Breakout EDU kits, professional learning books for teachers, ukuleles, classroom furniture and many other materials to support student learning.  Although there are many volunteers behind this work, please thank the following parents and past officers for their extraordinary leadership, Lisa Ciccia, President, Sherri Wolfe, VP Benson, Lisa Maltais, VP Franzen, Kelly Bender, VP Peacock, Anita DeValk, Secretary and Vittoria Carey, Treasurer. The next IPTO meeting is Monday, August 28th at 7:00 PM at Benson School and is a welcome night for volunteers. The first official IPTO meeting of the year is September 19th at 6:00 PM at Franzen.

The D10 Foundation raised approximately $32,000 for teacher grants. Funding helped purchase a 3D printer, scientific calculators, IPADS, flexible seating for students, student furniture and other materials to support student learning.   Although there are many volunteers behind this work too, please recognize the D10 Foundation Board Members for their superior leadership, Amy Heisler, President, Shirley Morikuni, Vice President, Rosa Worwa, Secretary, Lu Semenzin, Treasurer, Justin Pisellini, Board Member and Aimee Allison, Board Member. The next D10 Foundation meeting is September 11 at 7:00 PM at the Itasca Library.

I encourage you to attend one or more meetings if you are not part of either group.  If you already volunteer, and on behalf of all the Itasca educators, thank you to each and every member of both organizations.  Your caring is an inspiration to all of us.  Both the IPTO and D10 Foundation truly set a culture of collaboration and spirit of support and caring. Your incredible commitment helps Itasca Schools to be extra special for our children.

Thank You,

 Craig Benes
