Dr. Heidi Weeks - Superintendent

Dr. Heidi Weeks began serving as Superintendent of Itasca School District 10 on July 1, 2026, following two years as the District's Deputy Superintendent. With nearly three decades of experience in education, she has dedicated her career to helping schools thrive. Dr. Weeks believes that strong schools are built through meaningful relationships, collaborative leadership, and a commitment to ensuring every student has the opportunity to thrive.
Dr. Weeks began her career as a middle school mathematics teacher before moving into school leadership as an assistant principal. She later served as Principal of Peacock Middle School and Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning before assuming her most recent role as Deputy Superintendent. Since joining District 10 in 2015, Dr. Weeks has served in multiple leadership roles, giving her a deep understanding of the district's culture and commitment to excellence. Prior to joining District 10, she served as both a teacher and administrator in Bloomingdale School District 13 and as a teacher in Carpentersville Community Unit School District 300.
Dr. Weeks earned her undergraduate degree from Eastern Illinois University and holds both a Master’s and Doctoral degree from Aurora University. Her doctoral research examined the impact of instructional coaching on teacher growth and identified key elements of effective coaching relationships. In addition to her leadership roles, Dr. Weeks is a passionate educator at the university level. Her research and professional passions focus on professional learning and the development of leadership capacity in others.
Dr. Weeks is honored to serve the District 10 community as Superintendent and looks forward to partnering with students, staff, families, the community and the Board of Education.
Outside of work, Dr. Weeks enjoys running and spending time with her family and friends. She is also the proud mom of twin sons who are pursuing degrees in Criminal Justice.
